Mark & Maggie O’Connor Fiddle Festival

January 24, 2020

3-time Grammy award-winning violinist Mark O’Connor and his accomplished wife, violinist Maggie O’Connor, lead an Artist Residency at Omaha Conservatory of Music in January 2020. This marked the first time the O’Connors have led trainings in the region. The O’Connor Artist Residency included teacher training, student workshops and a delightful evening concert featuring Mark, Maggie and Conservatory students.

This residency would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers, staff, parents and families. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week as wonderful as it was. A big thank you to the O'Connors for kicking off their tour with us here in Omaha and spending so much of their time with our community here at the Conservatory.

Special thanks to our Inside the Mind of the Artist series sponsor - Omaha Steaks! The performance was also sponsored by Margot Wickman-Bennett & Ed Bennett and Kutak Rock! Check out the video above to see the student portion of the concert. Photos of the student trainings, concert, teacher trainings, and student jam sessions are below!
