Food for the Soul is an arts series with a new approach to enjoying and learning about music. A three course musical menu offers an opportunity to Discover, Inquire and Experience a musical masterpiece. This approach gives time to learn and absorb what makes music so special! In addition to the nourishment of great art, our musical diners (subscribers) receive delicious perks compliments of the Institute for the Culinary Arts, of Metro Community College. Yes, Food for the Soul also includes real food!!

Two of France’s greatest composers Maurice Ravel and Jules Massenet each authored a masterpiece that will share the plate of our Menu 2. Springing from emotional poles these two pieces employ a common means of delivery, the virtuoso violin.

Violinist Susanna Perry Gilmore has been hailed as both “thrilling and sensitive”, “luminous and hypnotic” She will perform Tzigane of Ravel and Meditation of Massenet with the Omaha Symphony on January 19, 7:30 pm at the Holland Performing Arts Center. Her performance that night is included in Menu 2 as the 3rd course.

A week before she will treat us to a Menu 2 2nd course lunch preview and interview at the Omaha Conservatory on Monday, January 7 at 12 noon. To make the most of your musical enjoyment join Maestro Hal France for an in depth look inside the music on Monday, December 7 from 6 – 8 pm in the OCM recital hall.

You can join Hal and Susanna for all three courses, Lecture, Interview and Performance for $75 or you can choose a la carte options.
