Our Chamber Ensembles program provides a structured coaching, rehearsal and performance experience that facilitates high-level chamber music collaboration among students. Participants learn how to be independent musicians while working with their peers to foster cooperation and teamwork. The experience is pedagogically sequenced to fit the playing levels of all participants and students are grouped by playing level and age. Omaha Conservatory Chamber Ensembles will have the opportunity to work with guest chamber music clinicians. There is a class recital each semester, and additional performance opportunities may be available.
This class is intended for students age 7+ (adults welcome). There is an audition required (waived for adult participants). Prerequisite of experience at Suzuki Bk 4+ for violin; Suzuki Bk 3+ for viola and cello OR equivalent). Exceptions can be made based on teacher recommendation.
Students will be placed in an ensemble based on their playing level, as determined by the audition. Requests to be in a group with a friend or friends will be considered, but may or may not be honored.
Adult students (including those who previously participated in Myelin Ensemble) can register for this class! Myelin Ensemble will now be scheduled as part of our Chamber Ensembles program. Myelin Chamber Ensemble participants must be able to read music and play their instrument in first position.
New members must submit a short (2-5) minute video of their most polished solo piece. When registering, please send your audition video to firstname.lastname@example.org
In the event of any student absence, please notify your instructor in advance. After the second consecutive missed class without notice or contact, the student may be dismissed and the date of the second missed class will be considered the official withdrawal date. All withdrawal policies will be followed.
Students are encouraged to be on time. Students who are late for class cannot be guaranteed their full class time.
Omaha Conservatory of Music reserves the right to dismiss any student without a refund due to frequent absences, disciplinary problems, overdue tuition payments, and/or noncompliance with the Conservatory's policies.
Group class tuition payments are due 5 days prior to the first class session. Class tuition is non-refundable after this point, regardless of the reason for withdrawal.
Our annual tuition, which includes 40 weeks of private instruction plus the opportunity to attend dozens of Conservatory events at no additional cost, doesn't cover the total cost of your musical education here.
