Omaha Conservatory of Music is excited to announce an educational collaboration with the Omaha Academy Choir. This auditioned choral ensemble is best suited for students in grades 7 - 12. Under the direction of Kat Doebel, the goal of the Omaha Academy Choir is to supplement the music education of students in and around Omaha. Through preparation and performance of a variety of choral literature as well as coaching students in choral and theory concepts, Omaha Academy Choir helps to prepare students for music study and performance beyond high school. This group meets throughout the year and will participate in several performances at the Omaha Conservatory and throughout the community.
Omaha Academy Choir is open to students grades 7 - 12, auditions are required for membership. Auditions will take place at Omaha Conservatory of Music on Monday December 3, 2018 and Monday December 10, 2018 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, and Thursday January 3, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm. At the audition we will explore your range, ask you to sing some short musical phrases, and sight read a basic step-wise line of music. Did you know you don't need to be enrolled in private lessons at the Conservatory in order to take many of our group classes? IT'S TRUE! With the exception of just a couple of our more advanced classes... As long as you're studying your instrument somewhere — and pay the one-time registration fee — you're welcome.LEARN MORE
Our annual tuition, which includes 40 weeks of private instruction plus the opportunity to attend dozens of Conservatory events at no additional cost, doesn't cover the total cost of your musical education here. If you would like to help us cover the remaining 30 percent, please give what you can — or consider being a recurring donor to support our mission all year long!Donate now!
