Nebraska Roots: Music and Mentors 2011-2012 Season
For the 2011-12 season, the Omaha Conservatory of Music will offer an extraordinary curriculum, engaging students in the rich heritage of Nebraska’s musical roots with the melodies of the Omaha Indian Nation. In Technique/Repertoire classes, students will study specific focus pieces chosen from the standard literature for their instrument, as well as new works commissioned by OCM, featuring the music of the Omaha Indian Nation. Special music workshops with Omaha tribal elders are also planned throughout the year in preparation for a final concert in March.
