Please join the Omaha Chamber Music Society and the Omaha Conservatory of Music for a special preview performance by Yulia Kalashnakova, Sam Pierce-Ruhland, Brian Sherwood and Carmelo Galante.

The event — featuring an informal talkback and concert featuring Lillian Fuchs Sonata Pastorale for Solo Viola; and Max Bruch Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, Op. 88 — is free and open to the public, with a special invitation to OCM students, faculty and staff.

American soprano Deanna Breiwick talks with Opera Omaha Engagement Programs Manager Dimitri Kontos about her musical beginnings, and current and upcoming roles.

American soprano Deanna Breiwick makes her Opera Omaha debut this February as Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Orpheum Theatre.

A 2011 Metropolitan Opera National Council Grand Finalist, Ms. Breiwick has performed regularly with the Zürich Opera in more than ten roles, including most recently as Dorothy in the world premiere of Pierangelo Valtinoni’s "Der Zauberer von Oz" (The Wizard of Oz). Later this season, Ms. Breiwick appears as Rosasharn in the premiere of a new version of Ricky Ian Gordon’s "The Grapes of Wrath" at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

Opera Omaha Engagement Programs Manager Dimitri Kontos sits down with the soprano to chat about her musical beginnings and discuss her current and upcoming roles.

Praised for her “sweet sound and floating high notes” (The New York Times), Seattle-born soprano Deanna Breiwick takes the stage with pianist Sean Kelly in an evening of songs spanning the centuries, from pyrotechnic concert arias by Mozart to nostalgic love ballads by Kurt Weill, Arthur Schwartz and Peggy Lee.
