Menotti’s AMAHL and the NIGHT VISITORS

Omaha Conservatory of Music, Nebraska Opera Project, the Omaha Academy of Ballet present Menotti's AMAHL and the NIGHT VISITORS.

Amahl and the Night Visitors is the story of a young boy and his mother living outside of Jerusalem in a time when the plight of orphans and widows was largely ignored.  Amahl is a good boy who tries to ease his mother's fears of losing their home and begging for food.  Everything changes when four strange men come to their door late one night, bringing with them hope and a special opportunity to change their fortune.  Originally written for television in 1951 by Gian Carlo Menotti, this opera in one act has become a holiday tradition.  In collaboration with the Nebraska Opera Project, the Omaha Conservatory of Music, and the Omaha Academy of Ballet, this production features local talent from across our wonderful state.

Celebrate the season with one of America's most popular operas.  This performance is appropriate for all ages.
