Dryden Meints is an Omaha-based composer, arranger, baritone, songwriter, and graphic and web designer. A recent graduate of Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music in Cleveland, Ohio, he earned his Bachelor of Music while studying voice, theatre, dance, and composition. Under the guidance of Dr. James Hirt, he wrote several pieces for area choreographers, over 30 popular and art songs, and the better part of a musical which is still undergoing revision and expansion.
Currently, his main composition project is the Violin Sprouts repertoire, a pedagogically ordered set of more than 20 short pieces to accompany young, beginning musicians in the Sprouts program as they develop skills on their instrument.
He is also a performer, having appeared on professional stages in Illinois, Nebraska and Ohio. Favorite roles include Sky Masterson in "Guys and Dolls" and Robert in "Boeing-Boeing." He also enjoys performing classically, recently appearing in Rossini’s "La Cenerentola" at Opera Omaha and as The Swan in Orff’s "Carmina Burana" with Sing Omaha and Orchestra Omaha. He also frequently joins the viola section of the latter ensemble.
