Music Theory
OCM students will be encouraged to participate in the District NMTA evaluations which include preparation of specific literature and a music theory exam. OCM theory classes will be tracked according to NMTA levels and material covered in each class will prepare students for this evaluation in the spring, as well as cover other music theory concepts in depth.

Beginning: 9:45 - 10:30 a.m.

Intermediate: 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

Advanced: 9:45 - 10:30 a.m.

Composer’s Workshop

Students interested in composing their own original works will study with an experienced coach to learn vital concepts for good composition, such as structure, harmonic theory, and orchestration skills.  Original works will also have a forum for performance.
